Play real games
We cover the rules — serve, scoring, the kitchen — and a few basic shots (serve, dink, drive), then you play friendly games with other beginners on courts sorted by level. Within 90 minutes you've actually played pickleball.
It's not hard. We promise.
Pickleball is famously beginner-friendly — the court is small, the ball moves slow, the rules are simple. Here's what you'll learn in your first 10 minutes.
A badminton-size box.
The blue zone on each side of the net is "the kitchen" — you can't hit the ball out of the air while standing in it. That's it. That's the trickiest rule in pickleball.
Four things to know.
- 1Serve underhand, diagonal, hit it past the kitchen line.
- 2One bounce each side after the serve, then volley if you want.
- 3Don't volley in the kitchen (the yellow box).
- 4First to 11, win by 2. Only the serving team scores.
5 words you'll hear.

Do I need experience or my own paddle? +
No. The intro is built for total beginners — we'll walk you through grip, scoring, and the basic rules. You don't need your own paddle; paddles are available to rent at the desk ($5), and indoor balls are on every court.
Where is Pickleland? +
We're at 21427 Martin Lane, Pflugerville, TX 78660 — Austin's highest-rated indoor pickleball club, just north of the city. See visit & hours for directions.
How long is it, and what are your hours? +

What should I bring, and how do I reserve? +
