Pflugerville has a new indoor pickleball club. Austin PickleHaus opened on Weiss Lane on September 25, 2026, with seven indoor courts and a cafe, and it held a soft opening through October 16, according to Community Impact. That puts it a short drive across town from Pickleland, which has been running nine courts on Martin Lane since August 2024.

We’re glad to have another good place to play nearby, and we’d rather you pick the club that fits you than the one with the louder marketing. So here is a straight comparison of the two, with every Austin PickleHaus detail taken from its own website, its booking page or Community Impact’s coverage, current as of October 2026:

What both places have in common

Both clubs are fully indoors in Pflugerville, so neither one loses a day to August heat or a spring thunderstorm. Both sell memberships built around unlimited open play, and both let you book open play or a court without being a member, which makes it easy to try each one before you commit.

Both also sort open play by skill. Pickleland runs DUPR-leveled sessions with levels enforced at signup. The Austin PickleHaus booking page lists open play in rating bands as well (Level 2 for 2.8–3.8 and Level 3 for above 3.6 when we checked in October 2026), alongside unrestricted sessions. And both have coaches on staff for private lessons.

What Austin PickleHaus does well

Credit where it’s due. Three things stand out about our new neighbor.

The hours. Austin PickleHaus is open 7am to midnight every day, per Community Impact. That is an hour earlier than we open and two hours later than we close on weeknights (four hours later on weekends). If you work late shifts or want a game after the kids are asleep, that matters.

The cafe. The club describes itself as “equal parts clubhaus and coffeehaus,” and it means it. Community Impact reports the cafe serves lattes, matcha, smoothies, refreshers, iced teas, mocktails and locally made baked goods, and the coffee menu on its website lists espresso drinks, teas, milkshakes and smoothies at $5 each. Pickleland sells drinks on site, but we don’t have a cafe.

No initiation fee. Every tier on the Austin PickleHaus membership page lists a $0 initiation fee, against $25 at Pickleland.

How the memberships compare

Austin PickleHaus publishes its tiers as a founding-member program. Here is what its membership page and booking page listed in October 2026:

  • MorgenHaus, $60/mo. Unlimited off-peak open play and off-peak court reservations (7am–4pm), plus 10% off peak-hours open play.
  • Founders Haus Flex, $90/mo with a two-year price lock, or $900/yr. Unlimited off-peak open play and court reservations, plus four peak open play passes a month.
  • Founders Miesterhaus, $130/mo with a two-year price lock, or $1,200/yr. Unlimited open play, unlimited court reservations, priority reservation access ahead of non-founders, one free clinic, and guest passes (one a month on the monthly plan, two on the annual plan).
  • Duo plans for two people. $1,620/yr for Duo Haus Flex and $2,160/yr for Duo Miesterhaus.

The founder cards are marked “Limited Spots Available,” and the membership page still carries a “Founder Membership — $1 Until Opening Day” banner. What a membership costs once the founding program closes is not published as of October 2026, so confirm the current terms with the club before you sign up.

At Pickleland, membership runs from $59/mo (Morning) to $119/mo (Unlimited), with a $25 initiation fee. Unlimited includes all-day open play with access to peak-time sessions, free mini tournaments, 7-day priority booking and one guest pass a month for open play, and members play free on rented courts during off-peak hours. The full breakdown is on our membership page.

Month to month, the morning tiers are within a dollar of each other and our Unlimited comes in under the Founders Miesterhaus monthly rate. Paid annually, Founders Miesterhaus works out to $100 a month. The honest answer is that the prices are close enough that the club itself should decide it, not the bill.

What makes Pickleland stand out

Nine courts instead of seven. Two more courts means more open play sessions running at once and more room for leagues, clinics and private rentals to share an evening without squeezing each other out.

A building made for pickleball. Pickleland was built from the ground up for the sport: 24–26 ft ceilings, every court fenced, no windows by the courts, strong AC and a mezzanine for watching matches.

Coaches you can look up. Our coaches play at a level you can check on DUPR: Kasia Carr (4.9 DUPR, a Selkirk-sponsored pro and former D1 tennis player), Jack Boxill (5.3 DUPR) and Katie O’Riley (4.7 DUPR). They run private lessons and group clinics; see pickleball lessons. Austin PickleHaus lists two coaches on its booking page, a head coach and a second coach, with private lessons shown at $80 to $110 an hour.

Two years of community. A new club has to build its player base from zero, and that takes time. Pickleland has had two years to do it. More than 20,000 players have come through the doors, and open play runs from beginner sessions up to curated 4.5+ games, with enough regulars at each level that you can count on a full court. That depth is what the 4.9★ from 918 Google reviews reflects. Check the open play schedule to see what’s running this week.

Who each club suits

Austin PickleHaus is likely the better fit if:

  • You want to play before 8am or after 10pm.
  • A real coffee shop attached to the courts is a big part of the appeal.
  • You live closer to Weiss Lane and Lake Pflugerville than to Martin Lane.
  • You like the idea of getting in early at a brand-new club and locking in a founder rate.

Pickleland is likely the better fit if:

  • You want an established community with regulars at your level, today.
  • You want more courts and a fuller calendar of leagues, clinics and mini tournaments.
  • You’re a beginner and want a no-cost way in: our free intro class covers the basics before you spend anything.
  • You want lessons from coaches with published DUPR ratings.

Plenty of players will end up using both, and that’s fine by us. Play a session at each and see where your games are better.
