Simone was born and raised in Brazil, where she started playing tennis at the tender age of 7. Her athletic family, especially her mother – who was a player and a tennis coach – greatly supported her tennis career during her earlier years. 

She climbed the junior tennis rankings in Brazil before eventually coming to the United States to chase her professional dreams by attending college at Fresno State on a tennis scholarship. Afterward, she transitioned into coaching at Fresno State as an assistant and moved on to become the head coach at Michigan State University.

Catherine Parenteau was born in the city of Montreal on August 26, 1994. At the young age of 4, she was introduced to tennis and very quickly took a liking to it. 

She continued to develop as a player in her formative years and became one of the highest-ranking players at the junior level in Canada. Catherine then went on to study at the University of Arkansas, playing on a tennis scholarship. 

Afterward, she transferred to Michigan State University, where she competed for and represented Canada on the women’s tennis team at MSU. During her time at MSU, she was first exposed to pickleball in the spring of 2015 through her coach, Simone Jardim.

Despite being skeptical about playing the sport, she caved in and fell in love with pickleball. Within six months, her professional career in pickleball began, and here are her accomplishments since then:

  • 3-time U.S. Open Champion
  • 2-time National Champion
  • 36 PPA Tour Titles

Jessie Irvine of Cary, North Carolina, began her athletic career in tennis at the age of 10. She quickly ascended through the junior ranks, becoming one of the top ten junior tennis players in the nation and competing as a professional on the WTA tour.

Despite the success, Irvine was suffering from chronic pain due to a genetic condition involving her cartilage. Eventually, the pain became too much to bear, and she had to retire from tennis at age 19.
