For most players the best JOOLA paddle is the Perseus Pro V in 16mm: JOOLA calls the Perseus its most popular shape, and the 16mm is the more forgiving thickness. If you play mostly doubles at the kitchen line, look at the Scorpeus. If you can’t decide between reach and width, the Kosmos Pro V is the hybrid.
Pickleland carries ten JOOLA models across four lines. Choosing between them is mostly a choice of shape, then thickness. We don’t lab-test paddles, so the numbers below are from JOOLA’s own spec sheets, checked on October 9, 2026.

Source: JOOLA's published specs on joola.com, checked October 9, 2026. Weights are JOOLA's stated averages. Every paddle here lists a textured carbon fiber face. JOOLA does not publish swing weight or twist weight for any of these paddles, so the table has neither.
That last line matters. Several other brands on our wall publish swing and twist weight, and JOOLA doesn’t. We won’t guess at them. If you want the number for a paddle you own, our swing weight calculator walks through measuring it at home. For everything JOOLA does publish, sortable against the other brands we carry, see the paddle specs table.
The shapes, by the numbers
USA Pickleball caps a paddle’s combined length and width at 24 inches, with length alone capped at 17 inches (Rule 3.D.2 of the 2026 Official Rulebook). Add up any row in the table and you get 24. JOOLA uses the whole allowance on every shape, so each design is a trade between length and width:
- Elongated, 16.5 × 7.5 in. Perseus, Hyperion, Magnus, Agassi Pro and Graf Pro. The most reach, the narrowest face.
- Hybrid, 16.3 × 7.7 in. Kosmos. It gives back 0.2 inches of length for 0.2 inches of width.
- Wide, 16 × 8 in. Scorpeus. Half an inch shorter and half an inch wider than the elongated paddles.
Five paddles share the 16.5 × 7.5 inch footprint, so the dimensions alone won’t separate them. Outline and handle do:
- Perseus: rounded upper corners. JOOLA says the shape keeps the sweet spot centered while extending reach.
- Hyperion: what JOOLA calls an aerodynamic curved head, meant to move through the air faster.
- Magnus: the same face size on a 5.0 inch handle, half an inch shorter than the Perseus and Hyperion. JOOLA recommends it for a one-handed backhand.
- Agassi Pro and Graf Pro: a tapered throat. JOOLA says the sweet spot extends out to the edges and bottom corners.
Pro V line
The Pro V is JOOLA’s current generation. Per the spec sheets, all four shapes share a polypropylene core with carbon fiber and EVA foam, a KineticFrame throat, and a Hyperfoam Edge Wall, which is foam injected around the edges. All four are listed as UPA-A and USAP certified.
Perseus Pro V
The safe starting point. JOOLA builds it for players who want consistency in fast rallies, and it sells Ben Johns and Simone Jardim signature editions. Our Perseus Pro V review collects what independent testers measured.
Scorpeus Pro V
JOOLA’s widest shape, described on its site as its most forgiving and as a paddle for players after control and stability. It’s a doubles paddle first. It’s also the heaviest of the Pro V shapes on paper, at 8.0 oz (14mm) and 8.2 oz (16mm).
Hyperion Pro V
Same length, width, handle and weight as the Perseus, with the curved-head outline. JOOLA aims it at players who want fast hands and quick reactions. If you’re torn between the two, compare the Perseus and Hyperion Pro V and then hit both.
Kosmos Pro V
A new shape in this generation. JOOLA describes it as blending the reach of the Perseus with the wider sweet spot of the Scorpeus, and the dimensions back that up: it sits between the two on both length and width. JOOLA sells the 16mm as Federico Staksrud’s signature paddle and the 14mm as Tyson McGuffin’s.
Pro IV line
The Pro IV is the previous generation, and we still carry four shapes. JOOLA’s spec sheets list a polypropylene core with an EVA foam wall and TechFlex Power, which places foam outside the paddle frame, under the edge guard. For a line-by-line look at what changed, read JOOLA Pro IV vs. Pro V.
- Perseus Pro IV. The same published length, width, handle and 14mm weight as the Perseus Pro V. We carry it in 14mm.
- Hyperion Pro IV. JOOLA’s page calls its handle the longest in the lineup. The published grip length is 5.5 inches, the same figure it lists for the Perseus.
- Scorpeus Pro IV. 16 × 8 inches. JOOLA names Anna Bright (14mm) and Collin Johns (16mm) as its signature players.
- Magnus Pro IV. The short-handle elongated paddle, listed with Tyson McGuffin as its signature athlete. It is the only Magnus on our wall.
Agassi Pro and Graf Pro
These sit outside the Pro IV and Pro V naming. Both list TechFlex Power and a Hyperfoam Edge Wall, so on paper they combine a feature from each generation. JOOLA says the Agassi shape suits players who strike the ball toward the top of the paddle.
The two differ in small ways. The Agassi Pro comes in 14mm and 16mm. JOOLA lists the Graf Pro in 16mm only, with a slimmer 4.125 inch grip against the 16mm Agassi Pro’s 4.25 inches. You can find the Graf Pro in the shop.
14mm or 16mm
Every JOOLA model here that comes in both thicknesses lists the 16mm exactly 0.2 oz heavier than the 14mm. Length, width and handle length don’t change.
JOOLA’s own guidance is consistent across its product pages: the 14mm gives a faster, poppier response for players who drive and speed up, and the 16mm gives a softer, more controlled feel with a larger margin for error, better for touch shots and dinks.
Grip circumference also moves with thickness and edition. JOOLA lists either 4.125 or 4.25 inches depending on the paddle, with a note that it may vary slightly. On the Hyperion and Kosmos Pro V, the 14mm has the slimmer grip. On the Perseus Pro V we stock, it’s the reverse. Check the exact pair in the compare tool if hand size matters to you, and see our grip size guide.
If you don’t already know you like a thin paddle, start with 16mm. Our 13mm vs. 16mm guide explains the trade-off.
Which JOOLA paddle should you pick

Shapes are easier to feel than to read about. The paddle demo page explains how to try paddles at the club in Pflugerville, and the paddle finder quiz can narrow the list first. For background on the brand, see the history of JOOLA.
FAQ
What is the difference between the JOOLA Perseus and Hyperion?
Not size. Both are listed at 16.5 × 7.5 inches with a 5.5 inch handle, and at the same weights. The difference is the outline: the Perseus has rounded upper corners, and the Hyperion has a curved head that JOOLA describes as aerodynamic.
Which JOOLA paddle has the biggest sweet spot?
JOOLA describes the Scorpeus as its widest and most forgiving shape, and at 8 inches it has the widest face of the JOOLA paddles we carry. JOOLA’s Radius Pro V, released in October 2026 and not stocked at the club, is listed at 8.2 inches wide. We haven’t measured sweet spots ourselves, and JOOLA doesn’t publish a sweet spot figure.
Does JOOLA publish swing weight?
No. JOOLA’s spec sheets list average weight, dimensions, grip length and grip circumference, but no swing weight or twist weight. Any figure you see for a JOOLA paddle comes from a third-party reviewer’s own measurement.
Is 14mm or 16mm better in a JOOLA paddle?
JOOLA recommends 14mm for players who drive and speed the ball up, and 16mm for a softer, more controlled feel with more margin for error. The published weight gap is 0.2 oz on every model.
Are JOOLA Pro IV paddles still worth buying?
They share shapes and most published dimensions with the Pro V. The differences are in construction, which our Pro IV vs. Pro V comparison covers model by model.
